SM ACTION, FORATO E’ IL MIGLIORE DEGLI ITALIANI NEL GP DELLA LETTONIA (IT-EN) 

KEGUMS (LV) – Alberto Forato è ancora una volta il migliore tra i piloti italiani.

L’ ottavo round del mondiale MXGP ha luogo tra le foreste della Lettonia, a Kegums, dove in un weekend dal tempo più incerto che mai i piloti del team SM ACTION YUASA BATTERY si sono ben comportati.

Il team, quasi al completo, ha visto al via ben quattro piloti: Alberto Forato nella MXGP, Lorenzo Ciabatti e la new entry Devin Simonson nella MX2, Federico Tuani nella EMX250, mentre Ruffini che è sulla via della ripresa rientrerà fra qualche gara.

Partendo dal sabato, caratterizzato da un meteo altalenante, buona prova di Forato che nelle qualifiche ottiene il quarto tempo dimostrando un’ ottima velocità, e alla bandiera a scacchi della gara di qualifica termina in sesta posizione, seppur con una forma non ancora al top a causa dei postumi della caduta in Francia.
Nella MX2 Ciabatti che rientra da un mese di stop fa segnare il sedicesimo tempo, mentre Devin Simonson è quindicesimo, risultati che non vengono replicati nella manche di qualifica, dove i due alfieri del team sono rispettivamente ventesimo e diciottesimo.

Nella EMX250, invece, Federico Tuani non riesce a trovare il giusto feeling con la pista, facendo segnare il ventesimo tempo. Lo start di gara uno, non ottimo, ha dato il via a una buona rimonta che ha portato Federico in sedicesima posizione alla bandiera a scacchi.

La giornata della domenica, dopo la pioggia della notte parte con gara due della EMX250, dove Tuani si mette in mostra ottenendo un ottimo dodicesimo posto, dopo una buona gara e una buona partenza, che gli consentono di ottenere anche il dodicesimo posto di giornata.

Nella MX2 invece buona la prestazione di Simonson, che in gara uno ottiene un buon quattordicesimo posto, mentre Ciabatti dopo una gara discreta è diciottesimo. Gara due, caratterizzata da una pioggia ai limiti dell’estremo, vede i due portacolori del team SM ACTION in quindicesima e sedicesima posizione, due buoni risultati considerando che Ciabatti rientra da un infortunio e Devin Simonson è alla prima esperienza sulla KTM SXF-250, venendo da un campionato completamente diverso come il supercross, un’ ottima base su cui lavorare in vista dei prossimi impegni.

Nella classe regina, la MXGP, Forato deve fare i conti con gli strascichi della Francia, ma in gara uno riesce comunque a mettersi in mostra ottenendo un ottimo ottavo posto. Gara due, caratterizzata dall’acquazzone sceso pochi minuti prima durante la gara della MX2, ha reso il terreno ancora più pesante ma Alberto si è saputo destreggiare in maniera ottima, ottenendo il sesto posto dopo aver lottato a lungo per la top five.
La somma dei due risultati lo vede in settima posizione assoluta.

Nel prossimo weekend il team sarà impegnato per la nona tappa del mondiale MXGP in Germania.

KEGUMS (LV) – Alberto Forato is once again the best among the Italian riders.

The eighth round of the MXGP world championship takes place in the forests of Latvia, in Kegums, where in a weekend with more uncertain weather than ever the riders of the SM ACTION YUASA BATTERY team performed well.

The almost complete team saw four riders at the start: Alberto Forato in the MXGP, Lorenzo Ciabatti and the new entry Devin Simonson in the MX2, Federico Tuani in the EMX250, while Ruffini who is on the road to recovery will be back in a few races.

Starting from Saturday, characterized by fluctuating weather, a good performance by Forato who obtained the fourth fastest time in qualifying demonstrating excellent speed, and at the checkered flag of the qualifying race he finished in sixth position, with a form not yet at the top at cause of the aftermath of the fall in France.

In MX2 Ciabatti, who returns from a one-month stop, sets the sixteenth time, while Devin Simonson is fifteenth, results that are not replicated in the qualifying heat, where the two standard-bearers of the team are respectively twentieth and eighteenth.

In the EMX250, however, Federico Tuani can’t find the right feeling with the track, setting the twentieth time. The start of race one, not excellent, gave way to a good comeback that brought Federico to the checkered flag in sixteenth position.

Sunday day, after the night’s rain, starts with race two of the EMX250, where Tuani shows off getting an excellent twelfth place, after a good race and a good start, which allow him to also get the twelfth place of the day.

In MX2, on the other hand, Simonson’s performance was good, who in race one obtained a good fourteenth place, while Ciabatti was eighteenth after a decent race. Race two, characterized by extreme rain, sees the two riders of the SM ACTION team in fifteenth and sixteenth position, two good results considering that Ciabatti returns from an injury and Devin Simonson is at his first experience on the KTM SXF-250, coming from a completely different championship like supercross, an excellent basis to work on in view of the next commitments.


In the premier class, the MXGP, Forato has to deal with the aftermath of France, but in race one he still manages to show off getting an excellent eighth place. Race two, characterized by the downpour that fell a few minutes earlier during the MX2 race, made the ground even heavier but Alberto was able to juggle in an excellent way, obtaining sixth place after having fought for a long time for the top five. The sum of the two results sees him in seventh position overall.

Next weekend the team will be busy for the ninth round of the MXGP World Championship in Germany.
